Fall is where fashion lives. For fashion lovers everywhere the season change that brings on breezy temperatures is the fashion opening we all patiently wait for. From our favorite September magazine issues to fashion week runways and our own fall shopping chronicles this is when fashion takes center stage
With September right around the corner and blazer weather creeping upon us (If you’re in NY like myself it’s already been here lol) it’s time to take a look at your closet and get rid of (sell) last seasons trends, reevaluate your staples and make a list of the items of you really need and the ones you can’t wait to get your hands on.
I have already begun my shopping, mostly because shopping is year round activity for me (I’m working on it) but I have purposely focused all my new buys on pieces that will take me through fall and into winter. So I visited and shopped a couple of go to stores we all frequent and compiled a list of my 2013 Fall picks.

First up Zara. I am not ashamed to say I am a #zaraholic. While they are known for copying designer looks straight off the runway, my down to earth salary is forever grateful and until I can afford to spend $800+ on a dress without missing a Sallie Mae payment I will continue to be a zara patron. Below are staples that you can re-style to last for a lifetime.
I love Asos! So many different designers, styles, and price points all under one website, you really cant go wrong. *Tip, If you’ve never visited this site make sure you give yourself some time, this is online shopping at its best. See below for a mix of trendy and classic pieces that are sure to turn heads.
I have been a Nordstrom customer since I was a little girl. My mother sold handbags here for years and I followed in her footsteps throughout college. While I am an online shopping junkie, I personally like shopping in Nordstrom stores, the exceptional customer service is as much a part of the experience as the outstanding selection of well… everything. While yes Nordstrom hits a higher price point than the first two retailers, shopping here is well worth it. You can return anything, for any reason, at any time, no questions asked. It’s no wonder why their customer base is so strong. The pieces I chose can be styled up or down while suiting a wide variety of taste.
Forever21… I have a love/hate relationship with this store. I love it because it is convenient. On a Friday night when your friends txt you for drinks and you either hate everything in your closet or desperately need to do laundry, where else can you go to get a cute outfit for under $30? It has become the go to for last minute shopping BUT when you realize that the new go to outfit doesn’t fit well or the zipper breaks after one wear and you CAN’T RETURN IT, the hate creeps in. With that being said I actually stopped shopping here for a couple years but recently I have found 2 consistently reliable products that are just in time for Fall, sweaters and jeans. See below for picks that you’ll never think about returning.
Shoes hold a special place in my heart & burns holes through my wallet. While I can go weeks without buying clothes I cannot go a month without being enticed by a pretty shoe and below I have picked a few that I’m sure you’ll want to add to your collection.
