I know, new place? Like what? I talked about my current place for the past two years and never showed you guys (pics will be finally be up next week) but I am moving. I had no plans of moving. I actually felt like I had just reached a place where my current apartment was styled perfectly BUT then my dream apartment came on the market. Lets take a second to discuss the market here in Jersey City (NJ Side of the river). I currently live a little over a mile from the Hudson/Holland Tunnel, up the hill with the regular folk but I’ve always wanted to be downtown. The downtown area of JC has developed faster than most expected. There are countless high rises with breathtaking views of NY and brownstone lined blocks that make you forget you’re in Jersey. It’s scenic, cultured and on the verge of being way too overpriced, meaning I have to get in now before its too late.
I’ve talked about this before but the dream is to own a brownstone in Manhattan and while that may happen one day when the next best thing presents itself you take it. When I walked into this apartment I immediately pictured myself living there, cooking delicious meals, throwing parties, sharing it with my someday husband… my idea of perfect. Thankfully the company I work for owns the building and one of my amazing friends is going to live with me (until I get the husband lol) and I’m super excited.
So back to the apartment, its your classic pre-war space. Twelve foot ceiling, crown molding galore but with an updated kitchen, bath, and huge bedrooms. Of course my design brain is overflowing with ideas and gathering inspiration gives me another excuse to spend countless hours on Pinterest & I’m sharing my current favs. The bones of these spaces are all super close to the look of my new place and I hope to create my own version of these beauties.
SN :: I live with a photographer now so you’ll definitely get pictures before Im about to move lol
Check back later this week for a look at my current place, It’s my baby 🙂
